It was everything around it that did my head in — quotes agreed over WhatsApp and never reconciled, variations that slipped through and never got charged, progress photos buried three hundred messages deep, and never really knowing the margin on a job until it was finished.

I tried running it from spreadsheets, a calendar, an inbox and a group chat. It mostly held together — until it didn’t. So I built the system I wished I’d had on site: one place for every enquiry, quote, job, photo, hour and invoice, purpose-built for the way project-based contractors actually work.
